Assisi Energy Inc. is a father and son business doing what comes natural. Gary Griffin is a Deacon in the Catholic Church and has been working in energy and finance for over 30 years, the last 13 years focusing on renewable energy at Edison Mission Energy and NRG Renewables. For the last 5 years he has also been assisting non-profit organizations in understanding the options for financing and developing the optimal solution. His son Colin Griffin is an artist back now in California finding this business to be a perfect fit. For both Gary and Colin helping others and moving toward a brighter future is most important - to prosper is the goal, prosper by making the best economic decisions, prosper in relationship to each other, and help the planet prosper by taking care of its environment. There are natural resources all around us that we should use. It’s time we open our eyes to what is right in front of us and reach our full potential.
The name Assisi is drawn from the village of Assisi, in the Umbrian hills of Italy, home of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of ecology. His words and example challenge us to stewardship of the environment. St. Francis, a simple man of deep faith, lived a life of service to the poor and in gratitude for the gift of nature. Before he died, he asked that his “Canticle of the Sun” be read to him. This beautiful song inspires the work of Assisi Energy.
